Under the said initiative, PHATA will help the provincial executive build 170,000 houses, while the remaining 1.2 million houses would be constructed under a public-private partnership model.

In this regard, the officials concerned on Wednesday briefed Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Suleman Khan during a meeting held to review the pace of work on NPHP in the province.

The meeting discussed the process of land acquisition in Kala Shah Kaku and Gujranwala. The officials revealed that they had acquired 304 acres of land in the Gujranwala region for NPHP. The meeting also proposed increasing the capacity of PHATA since it was the main executing agency for the project.
