LDA demolishes illegal structures in Gulberg, other areas.

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Thursday announced that it had proceeded to demolish about eight commercial and residential buildings in the city, as part of its ongoing anti-encroachment operation against illegal constructions in Lahore — according to news sources.


LDA officials revealed that the operation had been launched on the instructions of the department’s newly-appointed Director General (DG) Sumair Ahmad Syed, who also oversaw the operation. The department teams demolished illegal buildings in Gulberg, Muslim Town, Johar Town, and Allama Iqbal Town.

The officials revealed that LDA demolished a building in Muslim Town and a shop in Liberty Market, as well as a commercial building, a marquee, and few commercial structures in Johar Town. Similarly, illegal constructions were also demolished in the Karim Block, Allama Iqbal Town.

Previously, the DG LDA had also issued directions for the department to implement LDA’s Governing Body decision, in regards to the various development projects in the city. He asked for development projects to be completed in time and said that any negligence in the resolution of the complaints received via the citizen portal would not be tolerated
