Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme to be launched next month.

Islamabad: Director General (DG) Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) Waseem Hayat Bajwa informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works that the Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme project, after being delayed for several years, would now be inaugurated in February — according to news sources.

He made this announcement while in a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works, presided over by the Committee Chairman Engineer Muhammad Najeeb Haroon. The meeting was informed that the FGEHA would provide 10,000 plots to the government employees in various projects (mainly in Bhara Kahu) within one year.

DG FGEHA further appraised the meeting that the authority had acquired 6,000 kanals of land for the development of the Bhara Kahu Housing Scheme and that all the issues relating to the Bhara Kahu Scheme I and II had been resolved. He further informed the meeting that development work on Bhara Kahu Green Enclave had also been launched recently.

Moreover, DG FGEHA informed the meeting that construction work on 11,000 flats will be launched next month as well.

Additionally, the committee decided to constitute a sub-committee to oversee the city’s housing projects located in Bhara Kahu, Sector F-14, and F-15.
