CM orders inquiry against illegal housing projects in Rawalpindi.

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday directed the officials concerned to launch an investigation into illegal housing projects being set up without no-objection certificates (NOCs) in Rawalpindi, according to news sources.

He gave these directives during a meeting of national and provincial assembly members hailing from the Rawalpindi district. He said that the local land mafia involved in illegal housing projects or land grabbing would be brought to justice without any discrimination.

The meeting also discussed the progress of the ongoing development projects in the district. During the session, the CM revealed that the construction of Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) would begin on a timely basis and asked the Communication and Works (C&W) Department to settle the necessary matters in this regard.

Further, he ordered a probe into embezzlement allegation in the construction of small dams in Pothohar.

The meeting was told that the development work of Fateh Jhang-Pindi Gheb Road would be launched soon. The CM opined that the government had evolved a concrete strategy to resolve the problems faced by the people in the province.
