Sindh govt asked to cancel illegal forest land allotments.
Karachi: The Supreme Court SC recently directed the Sindh government to cancel all illegal allotments of forest land in the province, a news source reported. A three-judge SC bench, headed by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, on Tuesday, resumed the hearing on a case pertaining to the illegal allotment of forest land in Sindh.
Operation underway to retrieve forest land in Matiari
The bench ordered the Forest Department to acquire the land and cancel all illegal allotments. It further instructed the authorities concerned to implement the court order and submit a report along with satellite images of the forest land owned by the department.
A huge chunk of forest land retrieved
On the other hand, the court also hinted at issuing summons for Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah with regard to hearing the government’s stance on the issue of land grabbing cases in the province. Moreover, the chief justice sought a report regarding a housing scheme allegedly being developed on forest land.

The SC bench adjourned the hearing for two months.
