KMC to auction 254 huts on Hawke’s Bay Beach Karachi.

KMC (Karachi Metropolitan Corporation) announced that it has been planning on putting 254 huts at the Hawke’s Bay Beach to auction in order to increase its profits.

As per the reports, Iftikhar Shallwani Karachi Commissioner on Monday annulled the allocation of corporation’s huts at the Hawke’s bay beach. Rather, the land department was asked to take the control of all the huts.

All the allotters were issued with proper notices. Moreover, KMC stated that it will take strict action against the defaulters.

According to the Karachi administrator, the corporation had earlier assigned 254 huts for the period of 3 years. Now, the auction will be carried out as per the market value of these huts, the administrator added.

Iftikhar Shallwani says that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is retrieving the huts for the provision of better civic facilities and in order to upsurge its revenue. As per the commissioner, the rent and allotment process will be made transparent.

He added that the huts built at Karachi’s Hawke’s Bay beach are for public entertainment and therefore, it is the responsibility of KMC to provide the public with facilities.

On the other hand, on Monday, many of the street lamps in numerous areas of Karachi were being repaired by KMC. Areas included; Sir Shah Suleman Road, University Road, Shahra-e-Faisal, Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road, and Karsaz.

The Works Department Director of KMC General Shabeehul Hassan Zaidi was also asked by the administrator to maintain the street lamps on the roads under the control of KMC.

Moreover, he was also instructed to renovate the footpaths and work on plantations.
