CDA receives 66,000 applications for Cholistan land allotment.

Bahawalpur: The Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) recently reported on its receipt of 66,000 applications pertaining to the land allotment offer announced under the Punjab Chief Minister’s Cholistan Package 2014, according to a news source. As per officials, the submissions deadline expired on December 26, 2019.

Cholistan’s land allotment package receives an overwhelming response

The project was initially proposed in 2014 but the process for land allotment couldn’t be completed. The incumbent provincial executive started the process afresh after canceling the previously received applications. The process to receive new applications was started in October to allot free of cost land to local farmers. The CDA received applications from six union councils of Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalnagar.

With the reception of applications, the first phase of the project has been completed. The CDA has started the computerization process of the applications, which is expected to complete by the end of this week. The civic body will forward these applications to the respective union councils for verification. The scrutiny committees will declare the eligibility of the applicant for land allotment.

Facilities demanded the Cholistan

The last phase of land allotment would be conducting a ballot to determine successful applicants, and this might take several months.
