APPMA seeks resumption of kite flying festival.

Lahore: All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) President and Founder of Kite Flying Festival Khwaja Nadeem Saeed said that the reinstatement of the kite flying festival would help the government earn billions of rupees, as well as represent the country on an international level.

He further stated that by implementing sufficient security measures, the festival could have been rendered completely harmless but no such attention was paid and millions of people lost their income source.

He stated that kite flying would appeal to international tourists and create employment opportunities for the general public. He requested the government to constitute a committee for the revival of the said festival; adding that the APPMA would provide all possible support on this front.

‘The kite flying festival was incorporated by India because no solid steps were taken to ensure the security of the festival here. Millions of people used to come to Punjab for the festival but it was halted due to the loss of precious lives,’ he added.
