FGEHF’s Green Enclave-1 project development costs increased; allottees to bear burden.
Islamabad: The development costs of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF)’s Green Enclave-1 project have witnessed a 180-percent increase due to construction delays, a news source reported. As per the publication, the project was initiated in 2009 but got delayed due to a suo motu notification issued by the Supreme Court — with the case later being resolved in 2013.
Bill to convert FGEHF into full-fledged authority approved
Director-General (DG) Government Housing Authority Wasim Hayat Bajwa informed a sub-committee of the National Assembly’s (NA) Standing Committee on Housing and Works that the escalated costs of the housing scheme would be borne by the allottees. The sub-committee reviewed the work progress on various projects inaugurated by the housing authority and demanded that the details regarding their completion deadlines be presented to them.
FGEHF proposes relocation of G-14/1 settlers
The Secretary Housing and Works told the committee that the plots in the said housing scheme would be worth more than the amount paid by allottees despite the price hike. The committee was informed that the cost of the project had escalated from PKR 2.980 billion to PKR 5.558 billion.

The development work on the project began in December 2019 and is expected to be completed in two years. The committee was further briefed on the project plans for Green Enclave-II and the five additional projects implemented under the Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP).
