Cable wires in Lahore to be shifted underground.
Lahore: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General (DG) Sameer Ahmed Saeed on Friday announced to formulate suggestions for the shifting of overhead telephone and TV cables to underground utility ducts in order to safeguard the lives of the city’s inhabitants, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with several representatives of the telecom and cable sector. Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussein Khan, Director Coordination Kamran Parvez, and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.

The LDA DG said that cables found suspended on streets, intersections, and roads affected the beauty of the city. He stated that regulations should be prepared for laying the cables underground; adding that wires and cables should be laid underground in private housing schemes.
