DRAP approves passive immunization treatment for coronavirus.

Karachi: The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has approved passive immunization as a treatment for the coronavirus patients in the country, a news source reported.

DRAP further approved the local production of ventilators and the manufacturing of the ingredients for chloroquine – a drug found to be effective against the novel coronavirus. The approval was granted after the local ventilators had passed the technical evaluation. Similarly, medicine had also passed clinical trials.

As per reports, the proposal to treat coronavirus patients through passive immunization had come from the National Institute of Blood Disease (NIBD). After the official announcement of the treatment’s approval, patients will be treated at medical facilities in Karachi, Lahore, and Jamshoro.
