Construction of two U-turns on Islamabad’s Jinnah Avenue begins.

Islamabad: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed on Monday directed the Machinery Pool Organization (MPO) to construct two U-turns near the Blue Area Flyover, at the intersection of Jinnah Avenue and Faisal Avenue, a news source reported.

The developmental work on the U-turns is set to commence from today (Tuesday) and the decision to construct them was made during a meeting of the development authority. The MPO was tasked with completing the project, with the CDA providing its resources to the organization to execute various construction and development work in the federal capital.

One of the U-turns will be developed for the traffic flow coming from the Parliament side on to Jinnah Avenue, only a few meters before the Blue Area Flyover. The second U-turn will be built on the opposite side, for vehicles coming from Centaurus Mall on Jinnah Avenue, the news report added.

A U-turn was constructed recently on Faisal Avenue to provide relief to motorists coming from Zero points and the public feedback on the development was very positive. Consequently, the CDA chairman made the decision to construct two more U-turns in order to facilitate traffic flow in the city even further.
