LDA to amend Building & Zoning Regulations 2019.

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) recently announced its decision to amend its Building and Zoning Regulations 2019 for the third time, according to news sources. As per the publication, the approval required to make amendments to the regulations will be sought in the upcoming meeting of the authority’s governing body.

LDA approves underpass for Firdous Market, a theme park in Johar Town

The regulation framework was originally introduced on August 24, 2019, and has been amended twice since. However, the Punjab government and the Traffic Engineering & Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) have expressed concerns over the seven new clauses proposed in the amendment. According to the newly proposed amendments, the parking space specification for apartment buildings has been decreased and the construction of a building on a 30-ft road has also been allowed.

The provincial government and TEPA have expressed reservations over the conflicting nature of some of the clauses of the amended regulations, and have given their recommendations in this regard.

Earlier, the LDA had introduced these regulations in a bid to promote, and simultaneously regulate vertical development in Lahore.
