Kotli Sattian declared tourist destination; sites to open this summer.
Rawalpindi: The Punjab Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) has declared Kotli Sattian to be a ‘Tourist Destination District’, in addition to marking eight locations in the area as tourist spots, a news source reported. These sites are expected to open to tourists in May/June.

To promote this initiative, the preparation of a new master plan is also underway. The sites marked as tourist spots in Kotli Sattian include Neela Sandh, Karor, Panjpeer, Jura, Dhani Pir, Prandla, and Dhanoi. In addition to declaring these sites as tourist resorts, the PTDC has also placed a complete ban on the felling of trees in the entire district.

The authority recently commenced with a signboard installation gig on the Islamabad Expressway near Khanna Pull. As per reports, signboard installation has been completed by 80%. Moreover, the corporation has also started setting up viewpoints for families.

Advisor to the Chief Minister (CM) on Horticulture and Tourism Asif Mehmood said that a festival would be organized in summer to officiate the launch of tourism activity in the area. These identified spots will also feature restaurants, a chairlift, and other attractions, he added. Mehmood believes that opening Kotli Sattian to tourists will create a huge business activity as the area is more beautiful than Murree.
