Quetta: Government of Balochistan Spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani has revealed that the Quetta Master Plan is expected to be revised soon; seeing as the funds for this purpose have already been allocated, a news source reported.

QMC directed to fix Quetta drainage issues

Shahwani further mentioned that the government has initiated the process to hire architects, horticulturists, town planners, environmentalists, representatives of the business community, and engineers to assist in this amendment effort.

The survey, up-gradation of Quetta-Ziarat Highway ordered

The last revision to the city’s master plan was carried out 35 years ago; with the population here has increased by many times since. Currently, Quetta lacks appropriate infrastructure for water supply, sewerage, roads, and the dissemination of other public facilities. The traffic situation in the city also requires immediate attention.

Quetta to have new districts to facilitate citizens

Commenting on the current situation, Member Balochistan Assembly Sanaullah Baloch said that Quetta requires revisions in its master plan in order to revive the city’s green image. He also mentioned that the city’s sewerage system was updated 5 decades ago; while stating that the road infrastructure was in ‘terrible condition’.
