Pak invites the US to invest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

Islamabad: Adviser to the PM on Commerce & Industry Abdul Razak Dawood has declared that the government has invited the United States (US) to invest in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), according to news sources.

As per the publication, Dawood maintained that the US had displayed interest to invest in the oil and gas, agriculture, energy, and food processing sectors. He further underscored the importance of US markets for Pakistani exports and the economy.

The advisor expressed his views after a meeting held between the US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and the Pakistani authorities. He said that the US officials also expressed keenness in e-commerce.

Similarly, the US International Finance Development Corporation (DFC) would also assist in the formulation of new businesses in Pakistan. Moreover, both parties agreed to expand the US-Pakistan bilateral trade into a ‘broad-based, multifaceted, and economic-centered partnership.’
