Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing Sardar Talib Hassan
Nakai has said that the government would explore all possibilities to
provide accommodation to the masses.
He was chairing a meeting held here on Thursday to review the progress
on the various projects of the ministry. Managing Director R B Phulpoto
and other officials of the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF)
were present in the meeting. Federal Minister Sardar Talib Hassan Nakai
and Minister of State Malik Nauman Ahmad Langrial were briefed by the MD
PHA on completed, ongoing and future projects.
The MD informed the meeting that PHA is running on self-finance basis
and its sole source of revenue is sale of apartments. The meeting was
also informed that PHA has completed two projects in Landhi, one in
Gulshan-e-Johar and one in G-11/4 of Islamabad.
The PHA has accomplished a number of projects in Lahore, Karachi,
Islamabad, and Peshawar and some of the projects are under development
in
Islamabad (Kuri Road), Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Turbat.
PHA, an authority responsible to develop and construct apartments for
citizens belonging to every section of society, registered as PHA
Foundation in January 2012.
The minister expressing concern over the speed of work on ongoing
projects by PHA, started either solely or joint venture, instructed the
officials to take immediate measures to expedite the pace on the
projects to facilitate the allottees.
