| Estate Avenue SITE named after Mehdi Hassan, Source |
KARACHI - The Estate Avenue in SITE area which connects
Nazimabad with Gulbai has been named after legendary singer Mehdi Hassan
in recognition of his services in the field of singing.This was
announced by Sindh Minister for Trade and Industries, Rauf Siddiqi while
talking to media after meeting with sons of the great singer, Arif
Mehdi and Asif Mehdi at their residence here, said a statement issued on
Thursday.Legend Mehdi Hasan passed away on Wednesday in Karachi after a
protracted illness. He was about 85. Earlier, the Sindh Minister met
with Arif Mehdi and Asif Mehdi and condoled with them on the death of
their father, legend Mehdi Hassan, it said.
The statement added the notification about naming the Estate Avenue
after Mehdi Hassan has also been issued.Rauf Siddiqi also said that the
plaque engraved with name of legend Mehdi Hassan will be displayed at
the Estate Avenue after the burial of the great singer Mehdi Hassan
