ISLAMABAD, June 11: The Islamabad Development Working Party
on Monday approved 16 projects worth over Rs620 million for the rural
areas of Islamabad.
The projects related to upgradation of water supply schemes,
construction of streets, roads, boundary wall for the model jail in
Sector H-16 and fight against communicable diseases. The projects will
be sent to the secretary planning and development division for final
approval.
The IDWP at a meeting chaired by Chief Commissioner Islamabad Tariq
Mahmood Pirzada also approved the construction of the Diplomatic Enclave
boundary wall and residential flats for the police in G-8/4.
The meeting also gave approval to the establishment of courtrooms and
provision of furniture and other allied facilities to the sessions
division and civil district east subject to rationalisation of the
estimated cost of Rs58.798 million. It was decided that the planning and
development division would be requested to recommend to the finance
division for approval of funds to complete the project. The meeting was
informed that 14 courtrooms were about to complete by June 30 and 24
additional courtrooms shall also be established for the judicial
officers.
The meeting approved video conferencing facilities for district and
sessions division east and west, each costing Rs15.642 million. The
construction of the boundary wall around the model jail in H-16 at an
estimated cost of Rs23.834 million was also approved.
The other projects included construction of a road from Toheedabad to
new Mangial and from Bhara Kahu to new Subban at a cost of Rs45.054
million; rehabilitation of Sara-i-Kharbuza road (Rs44.748 million),
construction of farm road Tumair (Rs17.850 million), rehabilitation of
Jori Rajgan and Sungrial Bhadana Kalan road (Rs34.574 million),
upgradation of water supply scheme Khana (Rs33.235 million),
construction of a road from the well to mosque Hamdani Town, street
pavements in Alipur (Rs51.241 million), Seri Saral, Pind Sangrial and
Mera Badia Rusmat Khan (Rs46.183 million) and revamping of Islamabad
Sports Board (Rs50. 357 million). The meeting also approved
establishment of seasonal pollen allergy camps (Rs58.483 million).The
improvement of mother and child healthcare services in the three rural
health centres and 14 BHUs with Saarc development fund was also
discussed.
